Who departed this life the 30th of
August in the year of our Lord
1836 in the 75th year of his age
It was Gods will for me to call
Leaving my wife relation all
I trust in God our saviour sweet
Hoping in Heaven we all shall meet
In love we lived, in peace I died
My life desired but God denied
My loving wife and tender dear
Prepare to come unto me here
Prepare yourself for die you must
And lie as I do in the dust.
